Apple Snow Leopard and FileVault (part deux)

A while back, I wrote a couple of blog posts about the FileVault quirks in OSX. The problems seemed to be gone with the upgrade to Snow Leopard, but this week I ran into a (new??) 'feature'?

When I remove a directory on a (SMB) file-share it removes the files and directory (or so it seems). But after a couple of seconds the (empty) directory re-appears. Trying to delete the directory is impossible, and results in the following error:

The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8072)

When I try to remove the directory through Microsoft Remote desktop on the server itself I get:

Cannot delete file: cannot read from the source file or disk.

When I disconnect my MacBook from the server, by 'ejecting' the volume, the directory automagically disappears. This behaviour only occurs when I use Snow Leopard with FileVault enabled to delete stuff on the SMB share. Hence, OSX FileFault still sucks.

I have just started having this problem on my Infrant ReadyNAS NV. When I go to delete some folders the message continually comes up. I have tried deleting from other machines. I have not tried windows because I don't have windows except Tiny XP on parallells. I will try that.

I have tried changing permissions... logging in as administrator, but I still get the problem message. I am running OSX 10.6.3. Interesting.

Have you tried to unmount and remount the volume? That did the trick for me (or rebooting the device that held the share).
